Most affordable fitness studio software in 2026 (with the real prices)
Short answer
Junocal Starter costs $15/month for one location and up to five instructor seats, with no Junocal transaction fee. It has the lowest positive standard published entry subscription among the options with verified prices in this comparison, checked on 11 September 2026. That is a subscription comparison, not a claim that every product has the same features or that Junocal is cheapest for every business. Compare staff, locations, payment costs and required add-ons before choosing.
For a small fitness studio, affordable software means a bill you can predict and a booking flow that fits the way you teach. A low subscription loses its value if you need another tool for a must-have workflow. An expensive platform can still be worthwhile if a capability genuinely saves staff time or brings profitable bookings.
We make Junocal, so our interest is clear. The comparison below links to competitors' own prices, separates billing periods and flags what we could not verify. Prices were checked on 11 September 2026; confirm the current terms before buying.
What are the published starting prices?
Amounts below are USD. A monthly equivalent under annual billing is not a month-to-month offer. These are different plans for different business sizes, not interchangeable bundles.
| Platform and plan | Published subscription | Important scope or cost condition |
|---|---|---|
| Junocal Starter | $15/month; $150 billed annually | One location, up to ten rooms and five instructor seats. No Junocal transaction fee; payment processing is separate. |
| Vagaro, one US bookable calendar | $30/month regular | The displayed $23.99/month is a first-six-month offer, not the ongoing rate. Re-price for your calendar count and extras. |
| OfferingTree Essentials | $35/month; $26/month equivalent billed annually | Individual, single-login plan. Adds a 2.9% platform fee as well as payment processing. |
| Arketa Individual | $49/month billed annually | One login; 3% transaction fee on top of Stripe processing. Studio plans are custom-priced. |
| WellnessLiving Starter | $69/month; $62/month equivalent billed annually | One staff member. Business is $199/month regular with unlimited staff; its $39 introductory price lasts two months. |
| Gymdesk | $75/month for up to 50 active members | Core platform and unlimited staff; subscription rises with active-member count. Additional locations are $50/month each. Branded app and door access are optional paid add-ons. |
| Mindbody Starter | From $79/month per location on the US page | Starting price, not a complete proposal. Region and package matter; Accelerate and Ultimate are quote-led. |
| Glofox | Plans start at $99/month | Confirm the exact package, locations, payment costs and add-ons in a written proposal. |
| Zen Planner Studio | From $99/month | Member-count pricing. Website, Engage, branded app and payment hardware are separately priced extensions. |
| OfferingTree Studio Starter | $120/month; $100/month equivalent billed annually | Studio rather than Individual plan. No additional platform transaction fee; processing still applies. |
| TeamUp, 101–200 active customers | $189/month for this displayed band | This is a size-specific example, not its smallest tier. Use the pricing selector for your active-customer count; custom branded app is $99/month extra. |
| Walla Core | $299/month per location | Pro is $599/month per location. Core already includes Book-a-Spot, Zoom and payroll. |
Two other relevant options are quote-led. Mariana Tek lists Core, Core + Growth and Full Growth Bundle without a public subscription amount. Momence's current pricing page asks for business details to prepare tailored pricing. We have retired the older fixed Momence tiers from this comparison instead of treating them as current offers.
Junocal's $15 starting subscription is lower than the positive standard entry prices we verified above. That is not an exhaustive cheapest-in-the-market ranking, and a free plan elsewhere may suit an operator with very low volume. Check whether the free plan carries booking fees and supports the staff and class types you need.
Compare the plan your studio would actually need
Before comparing totals, write down your location count, staff logins, active clients and essential booking flows. For example, one yoga teacher with a website needs a different package from a reformer studio with eight instructors and assigned equipment.
- For a solo teacher: OfferingTree combines a website with booking tools; its Individual plans may be a relevant fit. Compare its fee-bearing Essentials tier with Pro as sales grow. Junocal Starter is another option if classes, appointments and a public booking page are the priority.
- For a staffed studio: check login limits. WellnessLiving Starter is not its unlimited-staff tier, and Arketa Individual is not its Studio offering. Junocal Starter allows up to five instructor seats; Studio removes that seat limit.
- For assigned places: demonstrate the actual equipment-booking flow. Walla lists Book-a-Spot on Core; Mindbody lists Client Pick-a-Spot from Accelerate. Junocal includes pick-a-spot on Starter. Those facts matter more than a generic “online booking” tick.
- For a branded native client app or specialist gym workflow: include that requirement in every proposal. A hosted booking page is not the same product as a separately branded mobile app. Gymdesk and Zen Planner may merit a closer look for gym-specific needs.
Do not infer that a feature is unavailable simply because a pricing page does not mention it. Ask the vendor to show the workflow using your example schedule, membership and cancellation policy.
Calculate total cost without double-counting payment fees
Use the same sales volume and transaction count for every candidate:
Monthly operating cost = subscription + required add-ons + operator platform fees + payment processing + any applicable marketplace charges.
Use the annual software quote calculator to compare the complete costs on the same basis. Leave any unconfirmed fee blank.
Record setup, migration and exit costs separately. Client-paid fees are not an operator expense, but they affect the price your customers see. Ask whether each quoted fee is an all-in processing rate or an additional platform fee; adding both an all-in rate and a processor's base rate would double-count costs.
Here is an illustrative calculation, not a forecast for your studio. Assume $10,000/month in fee-eligible sales and 400 transactions. If an operator platform fee is 2.9%, that layer costs $290/month before processing. If it is 3%, it costs $300. A separate hypothetical processing charge of 2.9% + $0.30 would be another $410: $290 plus 400 × $0.30. Replace those inputs with the actual contract and your payment mix.
Junocal charges no Junocal transaction fee, but that does not make card payments free. You connect your own Stripe account and pay the processing costs applicable to that account. For any platform with unpublished payment terms, write unknown — quote required, not $0.
Monthly billing versus annual billing: worked examples
These subscription-only examples exclude processing, applicable taxes, add-ons and setup costs. “Twelve monthly payments” is a budgeting calculation, not a claim that a monthly customer must commit for a year.
| Configuration | Twelve monthly payments | Annual-billing total |
|---|---|---|
| Junocal Starter: one location, up to five instructor seats | $15 × 12 = $180 | $150 upfront |
| Junocal Studio: up to five locations, unlimited instructor seats | $29 × 12 = $348 | $290 upfront |
| Junocal Growth: up to ten locations, unlimited instructor seats | $69 × 12 = $828 | $690 upfront |
| OfferingTree Studio Starter | $120 × 12 = $1,440 | $100 × 12 = $1,200 |
Junocal Studio's monthly-billed total is $1,092/year below OfferingTree Studio Starter's monthly-billed subscription. On annual billing the difference is $910. These are arithmetic differences between subscriptions, not equivalent-feature or guaranteed savings claims. If you need tools outside Junocal, include their costs before deciding.
For multi-location proposals, establish whether pricing is per account or per location. Walla's published Core rate is per location; Junocal Studio includes up to five locations in one plan. Do not multiply an account-wide price by your location count, or assume a per-location price covers every site.
When Junocal is — and is not — a sensible shortlist option
Junocal is worth trying if you want a low fixed subscription for classes, courses, appointments, packs and memberships with a public booking page. See the current plans and test your own workflow during the 14-day trial.
Be specific about requirements before moving. For example, Junocal paid private appointments can collect the full price or a fixed deposit; the remaining balance is recorded for your studio but is not collected automatically. Private-session pack redemption is not currently supported. If either is central to your operation, evaluate that gap rather than assuming every booking product behaves the same way.
Before committing to any platform, ask for:
- A total for your staff, locations and expected customer count after introductory offers end.
- Written payment, platform and client-fee terms, with one worked transaction.
- A demonstration of your real booking, cancellation and membership workflow.
- Setup, data-export and termination terms, including any minimum commitment.
The best affordable choice is the lowest sustainable total for a product that does the job. You should be able to explain both the bill and the trade-offs before moving your studio.
For a discipline-specific shortlist, compare the workflows in our barre software guide or dance software guide. If you are setting your customers' prices rather than choosing software, use what to charge for studio classes.

FAQ
- What is the most affordable fitness studio software in this comparison?
- Junocal Starter has the lowest positive standard published entry subscription we verified here: $15/month for one location and up to five instructor seats. This excludes temporary promotions and does not establish the cheapest total cost for every business. Payment processing still costs money, and a plan must support your actual workflow.
- How much does OfferingTree Studio Starter cost?
- OfferingTree Studio Starter is $120/month on monthly billing or $100/month equivalent with annual billing, checked on 11 September 2026. Payment processing is separate.
- How much does Mindbody cost per location?
- The official US pricing page displayed a starting price of $79 USD/month per location when checked on 11 September 2026. Confirm the price for your region and package. Accelerate and Ultimate require a quote; Client Pick-a-Spot is listed from Accelerate. A starting subscription is not a complete cost estimate.
- Does Momence still publish the old Basic, Pro and Custom prices?
- The pricing page checked on 11 September 2026 now asks businesses to discuss their needs for tailored pricing. We therefore do not present the older fixed tiers or processing rates as current. Request a written breakdown of subscription, operator fees, client fees, processing and required add-ons.
- Is annual billing always cheaper?
- It can reduce the subscription total, but compare the same plan and the amount due upfront. Junocal Starter is $180 for twelve monthly payments or $150 billed annually. OfferingTree Studio Starter is $1,440 for twelve monthly payments or $1,200 on annual billing. These totals exclude payment processing, applicable tax and extras.
- What does Junocal cost for multiple locations?
- Junocal Studio is $29/month for up to five locations, or $290 billed annually. Growth is $69/month for up to ten locations, or $690 billed annually. Twelve monthly payments total $348 and $828 respectively. Check the plan limits and the features you need rather than paying for Growth solely because you have a second location.
