Quick answer
Owners and admins on Studio or Growth can connect Mailchimp and choose one audience for opted-in clients. Connection, audience selection, client sync and incoming opt-outs have separate status checks. Connected does not automatically mean every part is ready.
Before you begin
Use an owner/admin account on Studio or Growth.
Have access to the intended Mailchimp account and audience.
Keep client marketing consent accurate before starting a sync.
You'll know it worked when
The intended account and audience are selected.
Client-sync progress finishes without a connection error.
The opt-out connection is active for the same selected audience.

Connect and choose an audience
- 1
As an owner/admin, open Integrations → Mailchimp and connect the intended account.
- 2
Choose one audience from that account and save it. An account connection without a selected audience does not start client syncing.
- 3
Read the sync status and check that the Mailchimp opt-out connection is ready for the same audience.
- 4
Review a small sample of consenting clients in Mailchimp before using the audience for a campaign.
Understand consent and direction
Junocal sends eligible client profile updates to the selected audience using the client's current marketing-consent state. Opting out in Junocal is propagated without creating a new marketing contact merely to unsubscribe them.
Existing unsubscribed or otherwise restricted Mailchimp contacts are not silently resubscribed by a routine profile update. Mailchimp-side opt-outs can return to Junocal when the audience's opt-out connection is active. Do not assume a new subscription in Mailchimp grants consent back in Junocal.
This integration is separate from Junocal's transactional booking emails and its own email campaign tools. A missing marketing subscription should not be fixed by changing a client's consent without their permission.
Recover a partial setup
If the page reports that clients are syncing but opt-outs need attention, use the provided opt-out repair control and verify its result. Recheck both statuses after changing the account or selected audience.
Use the resync control after addressing the displayed account or audience problem. A queued backfill is work in progress, not evidence that every contact has reached Mailchimp. If a connection has been revoked, reconnect the correct account first.
Disconnecting stops the integration's future work; do not assume it deletes previously synced contacts or sent campaigns in Mailchimp. Manage those records in the provider account under your normal data and consent process.
Troubleshooting
Start with the symptom that matches what you can see. Check the existing record before repeating a booking, payment or import.
Connected appears but clients are not syncing
Check these first
Check that an audience has been selected and saved.
Check consent, queued work and any reconnect warning.
Next step: Select the correct audience or repair the account connection, then use the available resync control and check its completion status.
Mailchimp opt-outs need attention
Check these first
Check the opt-out status rather than only client-sync status.
Check whether the account or audience was recently changed.
Next step: Use the opt-out repair control and confirm it becomes ready for the current audience. Contact support if that status continues to fail.
An existing Mailchimp contact stays unsubscribed
Check these first
Check the contact's current status in Mailchimp.
Check whether the client has genuinely provided new consent.
Next step: Respect the existing unsubscribe. Do not use repeated syncs to force a subscription; follow the supported consent process with the client.
Answers before you get stuck
Does connecting Mailchimp subscribe every client?
No. Junocal respects the client's marketing consent and does not silently resubscribe contacts already unsubscribed in Mailchimp.
Can Juno check whether a campaign was delivered?
No. Inspect the relevant Mailchimp campaign or Junocal email-delivery page. Juno does not have a provider-delivery read tool.
