Across 30 public US studio menus, the median yoga drop-in class cost $30 in September 2026. The median 10-class pack was $237.50, or $23.75 per class, and the median unlimited membership was $159 a month.
The figures come from Junocal's 2026 Yoga Class & Membership Pricing Index. It records six named studios in each of Austin, New York, Southern California, Greater Boston and Chicago. Every row links to the studio's own price page and keeps the pack expiry and membership terms beside the price.
What you pay depends on how you buy. A drop-in, a pack and an unlimited membership can all be the cheapest option for different people. This guide shows the prices, then works out the cost per class you would actually pay.

| Unlimited monthly membership | $159 | $98–$240 | 20 |
These are medians of published standard prices reviewed on 12 September 2026. They are not a national average or a quote from a studio near you. Intro offers, new-member deals, ClassPass rates and taxes are excluded. A menu only counts towards a row if it published that product in a comparable form.
How much will I actually pay per class?
Divide what you pay by the classes you actually attend. The table uses the medians above to show the maths; it does not describe one studio's menu.
| Option | Cost per class you attend | What must be true |
|---|---|---|
| Drop-in | $30 | You pay for one class |
| $237.50 ten-class pack | $23.75 | You use all ten before the pack expires |
| $159 unlimited membership, 4 classes a month | $39.75 | You pay for unlimited but go once a week |
| $159 unlimited membership, 8 classes a month | $19.88 | You go twice a week |
| $159 unlimited membership, 12 classes a month | $13.25 | You go three times a week |
The same membership can be the most expensive option or the cheapest one. Only your attendance decides which.
Is a yoga membership or a class pack better value?
For most people, the answer turns on one number: how many classes you take each month.
- Fewer than five classes a month: a 10-class pack is usually cheaper. Packs saved a median of 19.5% per class against the same studio's drop-in price.
- About six classes a month: this is where an unlimited membership starts to pay off. At the median studio, the monthly fee equalled six drop-ins. Across the 14 studios where this could be checked, the break-even point ranged from five to eight classes.
- Two or more classes a week, every week: an unlimited membership is usually the better deal, as long as you keep going.
Check three terms before you buy:
- Pack expiry. Where a US menu stated a validity period in months, the median was six months, with a range of two to twelve. Two Southern California studios said their packs never expire.
- Minimum commitment. Several memberships in the sample required at least three months. A cheap monthly price with a long minimum can cost more than a pack if your schedule changes.
- Renewal and cancellation. A membership keeps charging until you cancel. Check the notice period and whether you can pause it.
Yoga class prices by city
| Area | Median drop-in | Drop-in range | Median unlimited membership | Membership range |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Austin | $22 | $20–$33 | $129 | $98–$149 |
| Chicago | $29 | $28–$36 | $152 | $125–$184 |
| Greater Boston | $30 | $25–$32 | $174.50 | $159–$199 |
| New York | $32.50 | $12–$39 | $232.50 | $225–$240 |
| Southern California | $32.50 | $28–$40 | $159 | $130–$229 |
Each area has six studios, but not every studio published every product. Medians from two to six prices are a snapshot, not a city average. New York's $12 low is a regular class at a studio in Astoria, Queens; four of the six New York drop-ins were $30 or more. See the city tables and every source for the full rows.
Why do yoga prices vary so much?
- Location. Rent and wages set the floor. Austin's median drop-in was $10.50 lower than New York's.
- Room and format. Heated studios need more equipment and energy. The two heated studios in the sample charged $35 and $38 for a drop-in, but two prices are too few to measure a heated premium.
- Class size. A small class with hands-on adjustment costs more to run per student than a large flow class.
- Teacher experience. Senior teachers and specialist styles often sit at the top of a studio's range.
- Community model. Donation-based and community classes keep prices low on purpose, and are not directly comparable with a boutique studio's drop-in.
Yoga prices outside the US
The same index also covers 30 UK menus in London, Greater Manchester, Edinburgh, Bristol and Glasgow. There, the median drop-in was £15 and the median recurring unlimited membership was £102.50. Prices are never converted between currencies. See the full index for the UK tables.
If you are setting prices for a yoga studio
The medians above are a market reference, not a recommended price. A $30 class only works if your room, timetable and attendance leave enough after rent, teacher pay and card fees.

FAQ
- How much is a single yoga class in the US?
- The median drop-in class was $30 across 27 US yoga studio menus that published one, reviewed in September 2026. The observed range was $12 to $40. Community and donation-based classes can cost less, and premium or heated studios in large cities sit near the top of the range.
- How much is a monthly yoga membership?
- The median recurring unlimited membership was $159 a month across 20 US studios with confirmed recurring billing. The range was $98 to $240. New York had the highest median of the five areas reviewed. Many studios also ask for a minimum commitment, often three months, so check the terms before you sign up.
- Is a yoga membership or class pack better value?
- It depends on how often you go. At the median studio, an unlimited membership cost the same as about six drop-ins a month. If you attend fewer than five or six times a month, a 10-class pack is usually cheaper. Packs saved a median of about 19% per class against the same studio's drop-in price, but only if you use every class before the pack expires.
- Do yoga class packs expire?
- Usually, yes. Of the US menus that stated a validity period in months, the median was six months and the range was two to twelve. Two Southern California studios in the sample said their packs never expire. A pack that expires before you use it can cost more per class than paying for each class separately.
- Why is yoga cheaper in some cities?
- Rent, wages and local competition drive most of the difference. In the September 2026 sample, the median Austin drop-in was $22, while New York and Southern California medians were $32.50. Heated rooms, small class sizes and senior teachers can also push a studio's price up.
- How can I pay less for yoga classes?
- Start with a studio's intro offer, then compare a 10-class pack against a membership at the number of classes you will really attend. Community classes, off-peak memberships and student or concession rates can also lower the price. Avoid buying a large pack unless its expiry date matches how often you can go.
