Manage class waitlists

Enable a Junocal class waitlist, choose how released spaces are offered and manage clients when a full class changes.

5 min readLast reviewed

The short version

Enable the waitlist on the class, choose whether Junocal should promote the next eligible client or notify the list when a space opens, and use the dated class roster to monitor the result.

Choose the waitlist behaviour

  • Use automatic promotion when the next eligible person should receive the released place without staff intervention.

  • Use a broadcast offer when everyone on the waiting list may try to claim the space and the first eligible booking wins.

  • Explain the behaviour in client-facing copy so people know whether joining commits them to a booking.

  • Check payment or credit requirements before using automatic promotion for a paid class.

Enable it on the right class

  1. 1

Open Classes and select the reusable class type.

  2. 2

Turn on the waitlist and choose the offer behaviour available for that class.

  3. 3

Review capacity and booking rules, then save.

  4. 4

Open a dated full session and confirm that the public page offers Join waitlist instead of a normal booking.

When a space opens

A cancellation changes the dated class roster. Check that roster to see whether a waiting client was promoted or an offer was sent. If a client cannot accept the place, avoid manually creating a second booking until you know the first offer or promotion has resolved.

For unusual cases, open Help & feedback from the class page so the support request includes the relevant Junocal path.

common questions

Answers before you get stuck

Does joining a waitlist guarantee a place?

No. A place is only confirmed when the client is promoted or successfully claims an offered space, depending on the class's waitlist behaviour.

Where can staff see the current waitlist?

Open the dated class from Schedule. Its live roster and waitlist show the people associated with that specific session.
