Sign in and set up two-factor authentication

Sign in with an emailed link or code, accept a team invitation and protect your account with an authenticator app.

Quick answer

Team members sign in with Google or with their email address, and never need a password. The sign-in email has a link and a code: open the link in the same browser, or type the code on the page where you asked for it. Two-factor authentication is optional for each person and adds a code from an authenticator app on new devices.

Before you begin

  • Access to the email address your Junocal account uses.

  • For two-factor, an authenticator app on your phone.

  • Somewhere safe to keep recovery codes, such as a password manager.

You'll know it worked when

  • You reach Home or the day-of staff view without being asked to sign in again.

  • Your account shows Two-factor authentication as On.

  • Your recovery codes are saved somewhere you can reach without your phone.

Signing in with two-factor on

Junocal asks for a code from your authenticator app when you sign in on a new device or after you sign out. Each browser is remembered for 30 days. Connecting Google Calendar also asks for your code.

Lost your phone? Enter one of your recovery codes instead. To turn two-factor off, enter a current code or a recovery code in Your account and choose Turn off two-factor.

If you have lost both your authenticator and your recovery codes, contact Junocal support at hello@junocal.com.

How clients sign in

Clients don't have passwords either. They sign in on your booking page with a link or code that Junocal emails them. If a client's link has expired, they can ask for a fresh one from the same page.

Troubleshooting

Start with the symptom that matches what you can see. Check the existing record before repeating a booking, payment or import.

The sign-in link says it expired or was already used

Check these first

  • Check whether the email is more than 60 minutes old.

  • Check whether you opened it in a different browser or app.

Next step: Enter your email again for a new email, then type its code on the same sign-in page instead of tapping the link.

Google sign-in doesn't work on your phone

Check these first

  • Check whether you opened Junocal from Instagram, Facebook or another app.

  • Look for a notice saying Google sign-in doesn't work in that app.

Next step: Use your email and type the code, or open the page in your phone's browser and choose Continue with Google there.

Junocal asks for a two-factor code you can't get

Check these first

  • Check the authenticator app on the device you set it up with.

  • Find the recovery codes you saved when you turned it on.

Next step: Enter a recovery code in place of the authenticator code. If you have neither, contact Junocal support at hello@junocal.com.

A teammate's invitation link has expired

Check these first

  • Check when the invitation was sent. Invitations last 7 days.

  • Check that the invitation is still pending in Team.

Next step: Ask the owner or an admin to resend it from Team. The new email has a fresh link that lasts another 7 days.
