Quick answer
Google Calendar connects to the individual instructor. Assigned classes and appointments sync to Google, and busy events on the connected primary calendar block appointment times. Bookable working hours and date exceptions remain Junocal availability settings.
Before you begin
Use the intended instructor's own signed-in Junocal account.
Have access to the Google account and primary calendar you want connected.
Assign the practitioner and real working hours to the appointment service.
You'll know it worked when
Calendar sync shows the intended Google account and a successful result.
Assigned upcoming sessions appear with the expected timezone.
The appointment picker excludes a genuinely busy time on the connected primary calendar.

Connect the instructor's account
- 1
Sign in as the instructor whose teaching schedule should sync; owners/admins connect their own account when they teach.
- 2
Open staff Schedule and its Calendar sync section, then choose Connect Google.
- 3
Authorise the intended Google account and return to Junocal. Check the account shown and the latest sync result.
- 4
Use the sync or reconnect control if Junocal reports that the connection needs attention.
Set when appointments may be booked
Owners and admins open Team → Availability and choose the staff member to edit. Instructors manage their own availability in the staff workspace. Set recurring weekly hours and date-specific exceptions for real working time.
An appointment also needs the right practitioner assigned to its service. Duration, preparation time, booking windows, existing sessions, room use and connected primary-calendar busy events can all remove potential slots. Calendar sync does not make an otherwise unavailable time bookable.
After changing availability, preview the appointment page at the intended date and timezone. Existing bookings need their own review; changing a weekly pattern does not reschedule them automatically.
Choose the right kind of calendar link
The Google connection syncs assigned bookings and supports its documented busy-time checks. The private calendar subscription in the schedule is a separate read-only feed that can be added to calendar apps. A subscription feed does not import an external calendar's busy times into Junocal.
Customer portal calendar links are private to the booking contact and can name family attendees. Keep these links private. Disconnecting a staff Google account stops future updates; existing Google events remain, so check for stale entries when changing calendars.
Troubleshooting
Start with the symptom that matches what you can see. Check the existing record before repeating a booking, payment or import.
The calendar connection control cannot be found
Check these first
Open the staff Schedule page, not customer Google sign-in.
Follow the Calendar sync link and allow the schedule's secondary controls to finish loading.
Next step: Use the Calendar sync section in the staff workspace. Ask an owner to confirm your instructor access if that workspace is unavailable.
A busy time is still showing as bookable
Check these first
Check the connected account and whether the event is on its primary calendar.
Check event busy/free status, timezone and any connection warning.
Next step: Correct the account or event setting, retry the connection if required, and recheck the public appointment picker. Do not rely on a read-only subscription for busy-time blocking.
No slots appear after connecting a calendar
Check these first
Check weekly hours, date exceptions and service-practitioner assignment.
Check room conflicts, buffers, booking window and primary-calendar busy periods.
Next step: Correct the specific availability constraint and preview again. Disconnecting the calendar should not be used to work around a real conflicting commitment.
Answers before you get stuck
Does a busy event on any Google calendar block appointments?
The documented check uses the connected account's primary calendar. Check the account and calendar where the busy event was created.
Can an owner connect another instructor's Google account?
Each instructor authorises their own account. An owner can manage staff availability, but that is separate from the instructor's personal connection.
