Manage online session links and video backup

Choose joining details, host a session and recover a broken link with Junocal video when available.

8 min readLast reviewed

Quick answer

Online sessions need usable joining details. Depending on the offering, you can use a supplied link, a connected provider or Junocal video backup. Check the actual scheduled session before it starts; a configured provider alone does not prove that a link is ready.

Before you begin

  • Use an online session or an online place on a hybrid session.

  • Check the assigned instructor and required host access.

  • Check provider connection or Junocal video availability before relying on automatic links.

You'll know it worked when

  • The actual session displays a ready, usable joining link.

  • The authorised host can open the room and its waiting-room controls.

  • The booking's current joining information points clients to the intended session.

Follow along in Junocal

Open the exact product area, then keep this guide beside it.

Open Junocal video settings

Choose how clients will join

  1. 1

Set the offering or session to the intended online or hybrid delivery mode.

  2. 2

Choose the supported joining option: a supplied meeting link, a connected Zoom or Google Meet setup, or joining details supplied later.

  3. 3

Owners/admins can open Integrations → Junocal video to check availability and automatic backup settings.

  4. 4

Open the actual scheduled session and confirm that its joining details are ready. An appointment may need a confirmed online booking before a room is prepared.

Host a Junocal video session

Open the session from your schedule and follow its Junocal video link. Sign in as an owner, admin or the assigned instructor to host, complete any requested security check, and admit clients from the waiting room. Front-desk access to the schedule does not itself grant hosting permission.

Clients join from their booking email or calendar invitation in their browser. Camera and microphone start off. Recording is disabled. Joining links expire 24 hours after the scheduled end without disconnecting a call already in progress.

Check provider-specific setup

Manage the studio's Zoom connection from Integrations → Zoom. Google Calendar and Google Meet connections belong to each instructor, so the assigned instructor needs their own connection. Duplicated Zoom sessions should have their own managed meeting; verify the resulting session rather than reusing an old copied link.

If Junocal video is shown as unavailable, follow the message in Integrations and add your own working meeting link. Juno can explain these controls but cannot see provider health or guarantee that a room or replacement email is ready.

Troubleshooting

Start with the symptom that matches what you can see. Check the existing record before repeating a booking, payment or import.

The online session has no ready meeting link

Check these first

  • Check the provider connection and the session's video status.

  • For an appointment, check for a confirmed online booking and the studio's backup setting.

Next step: Use the offered retry or session rescue, or add your own valid meeting link. Verify the result on the session before telling clients it is ready.

The instructor reaches a login or security screen

Check these first

  • Use the assigned instructor, owner or admin account.

  • Complete the account's required sign-in or multi-factor check.

Next step: Return to the session's host link after authentication. Do not share a host link or substitute someone else's account to get around permissions.

Clients still have an old joining link

Check these first

  • Check that the session switch completed successfully.

  • Check the current booking details and email-delivery status rather than assuming notification succeeded.

Next step: Direct clients to their updated booking details. Resolve a failed delivery using the normal delivery controls and keep the old and new session identities clear.

Answers before you get stuck

Do I need a separate account to host Junocal video?

No separate video-provider account is needed. Hosting still requires the authorised Junocal account and the feature to be available for the studio.

Will changing the default provider fix every existing session?

Check each affected session. Existing joining links and an explicit session rescue are separate from settings used to create future links.
