Each scenario assumes every attendee uses the named offer. These are remainders after the costs you entered, not net profit or a forecast of demand.
How many dancers does a class need?
Consider a 12-place adult class with £72 in fixed teaching, room and allocated overhead costs, plus £1 per attendee. At a £16 drop-in, each place contributes £15, so £72 ÷ £15 rounds up to five paying dancers. A £70 five-class pack brings in £14 per redeemed visit; after the £1 variable cost, £72 ÷ £13 rounds up to six paying dancers.

These figures are invented planning inputs, not surveyed dance studio prices. The course row assumes every enrollee attends all eight sessions. “Remainder” covers only the costs named above.
method
The formulas behind the tool
Open class: divide fixed cost per class by price per visit minus variable cost per attendee, then round up to the next whole dancer. The pack price per visit is pack price divided by credits. If the contribution is zero or negative, the offer cannot cover fixed costs at any attendance.
Dated course: multiply fixed session cost by the number of sessions. Divide that by course price minus variable cost per attendee across all sessions, then round up to a whole enrollee. The model uses the same per-class costs entered above, assumes the same students attend every date and checks the answer against room capacity.
Include a budget for owner teaching time, preparation and overheads even when no outside invoice arrives. Spread any one-off course setup cost across its sessions before adding it to the fixed cost per class. Allocate payment processing to the relevant offer, then model refunds, taxes and mixed offer usage separately.
