Mindbody → Junocal

Migrate from Mindbody in five business days

The Mindbody export, dry-run review, cutover weekend, and marketplace transition. Most studios move from Mindbody to Junocal in five business days with twelve to twenty hours of operator time across a ten-day window.

the six steps

What the migration actually involves

  1. 01

    Pull the Mindbody exports

Reports → Client List, Class History, Membership Sales, Pricing Option Sales, Forms. Standard CSVs, free, 20-30 minutes total. We send exact menu paths if needed.

  2. 02

    Send the exports to Junocal

Secure upload through a migration portal. A person reviews before importing. No automated import without human verification.

  3. 03

    Dry-run review in staging

We import into a sandbox version of your studio. You log in, review the data, sign off on the mapping. Spot-check email opt-in status, membership pause dates, pack credits.

  4. 04

    Configure the studio

Branding, class types, intake forms, instructor accounts, theme. Parallel with the dry-run review. Most studios spend evenings on this.

  5. 05

Pick a Sunday and cut over

Sunday evening cutover. Final data sync. Junocal goes live. Monday-morning classes run on Junocal. Most studios pick the second Sunday after starting the migration.

  6. 06

    Verify, then cancel Mindbody

Run Monday classes, watch the staff view, confirm Stripe payouts. Cancel Mindbody at the end of the current billing period — typically a few weeks after cutover. Buffer in case anything needs re-importing.

what transfers cleanly

Mindbody data we preserve

The Junocal importer is calibrated for Mindbody specifically — most fields move without intervention. The areas where other tools lose data are the ones we've hardened.

Client list with profile data, contact details, and custom fields

Email opt-in status (the field most often lost in cross-platform migrations)

SMS consent status

Booking history — multi-year if available, with attendance status (attended / no-show / late cancel)

Active memberships with current period and pause status

Class packs with credits remaining and expiry dates

Intake forms with completion status per client

Pick-a-spot floor plan and favourite-spot data (if you were on Accelerate tier or above)

Service types with their cancellation policies, prices, and capacity

Instructor profiles with bios and availability

Mindbody-specific edge cases

The marketplace listing transition

Your Mindbody marketplace listing keeps running during the transition. Bookings through the listing pay 20% commission (capped at $30/transaction); bookings on your Junocal page carry none. Most studios drop the listing after sixty to ninety days as direct bookings ramp.

The annual contract

If you're inside the term, parallel-run during the trial and cancel at contract end, or contact Mindbody about a buyout. Most studios parallel-run. Junocal trial is 14 days no-card; migration is free in the first 30 days.

The Stripe handover

Mindbody uses bundled processing — Mindbody is the merchant of record. On Junocal you connect your own Stripe account via OAuth (or create one during onboarding). Your new Stripe history starts at the cutover date.

Questions

How long does a Mindbody-to-Junocal migration take?

Most one-to-five-instructor studios go from CSV export to live on Junocal in five business days. The import takes a few hours on our side; the rest is sign-off, scheduling, and the Sunday cutover. Multi-location, multi-year historical data, or large on-demand video libraries add a few days.

What happens to the Mindbody marketplace listing?

Keep the Mindbody marketplace listing running during the transition if you want to maintain marketplace traffic. The 20% commission on app-discovered bookings continues to apply. Bookings made directly on your Junocal page carry no commission. Most studios drop the listing after sixty to ninety days once direct bookings ramp up. UK studios drop it faster — marketplace penetration is lower in the UK.

What about my Mindbody annual contract?

Two paths. Parallel-run: start the Junocal 14-day trial (no card), migrate data during the trial, run live on Junocal for new bookings, keep Mindbody open for residual bookings until the contract expires, then cancel. Or contact Mindbody about an early-cancellation buyout — particularly inside the last six months of the term. Most studios parallel-run.

Will my clients have to do anything?

No. Bookings, memberships, pack credits, and intake forms move across automatically. They get one email at cutover with the new login (magic link, no password) and a brief note about what's changed. If you bring your subdomain across, the URL stays the same and existing bookmarks still work.

Does email opt-in status transfer?

Yes — first-class part of the import. The Mindbody export includes the email subscription status field; we verify it transfers cleanly in the dry-run before going live. Unsubscribed clients stay unsubscribed; opted-in stay opted-in.

What about the £400 Mindbody data export fee?

Mindbody's standard CSV export from the Reports section is free and covers the migration fields — client list, booking history, memberships, packs, intake forms. The £400 (or $500) complete-record export applies when a full historical archive including year-over-year intake form versions and detailed financial transactions is requested. For most migrations, standard exports are sufficient and we don't need the complete record.
