Momence → Junocal

Migrate from Momence in five business days

The Momence export, the on-demand-video gotcha, the dry-run review, and the cutover. Five business days — longer if you have a meaningful on-demand video library to re-host.

the six steps

What the migration actually involves

  1. 01

    Pull the Momence exports

Admin → Settings → Data Export. Client list, booking history, memberships, packs, intake forms. Standard CSVs, free, 20-30 minutes. If you have an on-demand video library, scope the re-hosting plan in parallel.

  2. 02

Plan the video migration (if applicable)

For libraries over fifty videos, set up Vimeo OTT or Uscreen. We advise on the right host given your subscription model. Video re-upload runs in parallel with the data migration — one week spread across evenings.

  3. 03

    Send the exports to Junocal

Secure upload through a migration portal. A person reviews before importing. No automated import without human verification.

  4. 04

    Dry-run review in staging

We import into a sandbox version of your studio. You log in, review the data, sign off on the mapping. Spot-check membership pause dates, pack credits, email opt-in status.

  5. 05

Pick a Sunday and cut over

Sunday evening cutover. Final data sync. Junocal goes live. Booking-page URL updates (junocal.com/your-slug on Junocal, or your existing domain if configured).

  6. 06

    Cancel Momence

End of the current Momence billing period. On the Premium tier with an annual contract, time the cutover to contract end or parallel-run.

the video question

What happens to your video library

Momence's native video hosting is its main differentiator and the main migration question. Three patterns by situation.

Small library (under 20 videos)

Download each video through the Momence admin UI. Re-upload to Vimeo (free for basic) or YouTube (unlisted). Link from your Junocal booking page. An afternoon of work; doesn't extend the migration timeline.

Medium library (20-100 videos, subscription product)

Set up Vimeo OTT or Uscreen as the subscription video host. Download and re-upload videos in batches. Reconfigure subscriber access through the new host. Roughly one week spread across evenings. We help scope this before you commit.

Large library or video-primary studio (100+ videos, video is 20%+ of revenue)

Junocal pairs cleanly with a dedicated video host (Vimeo OTT, Uscreen, or Mighty Networks) for studios where on-demand video is the core offering — the booking-and-business side runs on Junocal, the video side runs on a best-in-class video platform. Get in touch at hello@junocal.com to scope the video-hosting migration before you commit; we will walk through the configuration that fits your library and revenue mix.

the things buyers ask

Questions

How long does a Momence-to-Junocal migration take?

Five business days end-to-end. Exception: studios with meaningful on-demand video libraries — Momence's video files don't always export cleanly, and most studios need to re-upload to Vimeo, YouTube, or Uscreen during the transition. That adds roughly one week for libraries over fifty videos.

What's the issue with Momence on-demand video?

Momence hosts video natively and the binary files don't come out cleanly through the standard CSV export. Metadata (titles, descriptions, member access lists) exports fine; actual video files do not. Studios with meaningful on-demand video re-upload to Vimeo OTT, Uscreen, or Mighty Networks during migration. Junocal pairs cleanly with these via deep links from the booking page. We scope the video migration step before you start.

Does email opt-in status transfer from Momence?

Yes — first-class part of the import, verified in the dry-run. Spot-check a few unsubscribed and a few opted-in clients in staging before going live.

What happens to the Momence consumer app and any marketplace bookings?

Momence-app bookings flow through Momence until cutover. After cutover, new bookings come through your Junocal-branded page. Clients still using the Momence app habit can be redirected to your Junocal page (we set up a redirect or notification). The Momence platform fee per booking stops applying once you're live on Junocal.

What about the Momence platform fee on bookings?

Momence charges a per-booking platform fee that varies by tier (5% Basic, 2.5% Pro, lower on Plus, 0% Premium). On Junocal that fee stops applying — fixed monthly subscription, no per-booking fee. A studio doing £150,000/year on Momence Pro (2.5%) saves £3,750/year in platform fees alone.

Has Momence changed since the Clubessential acquisition?

Yes. Clubessential Holdings acquired Momence in January 2025; Clubessential is merging with Xplor Technologies (announced September 2025). Pricing has moved upward on premium tiers and contract terms on the marketplace-and-app tier have lengthened. Studios on annual contracts can parallel-run during the Junocal trial or contact Momence about early-cancellation buyouts.
