tier by tier

What each tier actually includes

Basic (free)

$0 / month, 5% platform fee

Free entry tier with a percentage fee on each booking (studio side).

  • Basic class scheduling and bookings
  • 5% platform fee on each booking (studio side)
  • 4% additional fee on client side
  • Stripe processing through Momence

The platform fee adds up fast. For a studio doing £150K in bookings, 5% is £7,500/year — meaningfully more than the upper paid tiers.

Pro

~$60 / month + 2.5% platform fee

Lower subscription, smaller percentage on each booking.

  • Class scheduling, memberships, packs
  • 2.5% platform fee per booking
  • Basic reporting
  • Email support

Midpoint of the platform-fee-versus-subscription trade-off. For studios under £100K in bookings, often the all-in-cheapest Momence option.

Plus

~$99 / month + reduced platform fee

Mid-tier with the more capable feature set.

  • Everything in Pro
  • Advanced scheduling features
  • Marketing automation
  • On-demand video library access
  • Lower platform fee per booking

Where studios with meaningful video revenue end up. The on-demand video product is Momence's main differentiator.

Premium

~$199 / month, 0% platform fee

Higher subscription, no per-booking platform fee.

  • Everything in Plus
  • No platform fee per booking
  • Branded mobile app surface
  • Deeper integration with the Momence marketplace
  • Priority support

Annual contract standard at this tier. For high-booking-volume studios, the 0% platform fee saves money versus lower tiers despite the higher subscription.

Custom

Quote-based, enterprise

For larger operations, multi-location, or custom feature needs.

  • Everything in Premium
  • Custom features and integrations
  • Dedicated account management
  • Negotiated terms

Pricing not published. Negotiated per customer.

the math

Platform fee versus subscription

Momence's tier design trades platform fee (a percentage of every booking) against subscription (a fixed monthly cost). The right tier depends on booking volume.

Low volume (under £50K/year in bookings)

Basic (free + 5% fee) can be cheapest in absolute terms — £50K × 5% = £2,500 in platform fees with zero subscription. Junocal Starter at £29/month (£756/year) is meaningfully cheaper at this volume.

Mid volume (£50K-£200K/year)

Pro at $60/month + 2.5% or Plus at $99/month + lower fee is typically the right band. £150K × 2.5% = £3,750 in platform fees plus subscription. Junocal Studio at £79/month (£1,430 all-in) is cheaper.

High volume (£200K+/year)

Premium at $199/month + 0% platform fee makes sense — the fixed subscription replaces the percentage fee that would otherwise compound with volume. Junocal Growth at £199/month (£2,400/year) is comparable on the subscription side, with no marketplace commission.

the things buyers ask

Questions

What's the cheapest Momence plan?

Momence Basic is technically free (no monthly subscription) but charges 5% on every booking (studio side) plus 4% on the client side. For a studio doing £150K in bookings, the 5% fee alone is £7,500/year. Pro at ~$60/month + 2.5% is typically the all-in-cheapest option for studios with meaningful booking volume.

Does Momence charge a marketplace commission?

Momence doesn't publish a single marketplace commission rate the way Mindbody does, but the Momence consumer app drives bookings through the platform's commercial layer. Operator reports place the effective platform-discovery fee in a comparable range to other category marketplaces. The platform fee on bookings (5% on Basic, 2.5% on Pro, lower on Plus, 0% on Premium) is separate from marketplace-attribution mechanics.

What's Momence's payment processing rate?

Momence runs processing at ~2.5% + $0.15 per online card transaction, layered on top of the per-tier platform fee. The 2.5% is at or slightly above Stripe's standard 2.9% + $0.30 — the lower percentage is partly offset by the lower per-transaction fee. For UK studios, the effective rate runs slightly higher than direct-Stripe on the same volume.

How has Momence pricing changed since the Clubessential acquisition?

Momence was acquired by Clubessential Holdings in January 2025, bringing it under the same parent as ClubReady, Exerp, and myFitApp. Premium-tier pricing has risen since, and contract terms on the marketplace-and-app tier have lengthened. In September 2025, Clubessential and Xplor Technologies announced a merger expected to close by year end, putting Momence and Xplor Mariana Tek under the same combined parent.

Are there annual contracts on Momence?

Pro and Plus contracts have historically been month-to-month or short-term. Premium (and Custom) typically requires annual commitment with auto-renewal post-acquisition. Studios on annual contracts can parallel-run during a trial of an alternative platform or contact Momence about early-cancellation buyouts.

What does the Momence on-demand video product include?

Momence Plus and Premium include native on-demand video hosting with subscription billing tied to library access. Studios can sell video subscriptions as a separate product or include video access in a membership. The native video product is Momence's main differentiator. Note: video files don't always export cleanly when migrating away — operator reports describe the video content as not-retrievable through the standard export, requiring re-upload to Vimeo, YouTube, or Uscreen during transition.

What's the total annual cost of Momence for a typical studio?

For a UK studio doing £150,000/year in bookings on Momence Plus (~$99 / £80 a month): £960 subscription + a few hundred pounds in platform-fee-on-bookings + £400-£900 processing markup over direct Stripe = ~£2,000-£2,500/year all-in. On Momence Premium at $199 / £160 with no platform fee: £1,920 subscription + £400-£900 processing markup = ~£2,300-£2,800/year. Junocal Studio at £79/month all-in: ~£1,430/year.

Looking at alternatives?

Junocal Studio at £79 / $99 a month covers the core operational shape of Momence Plus or Premium at a fixed monthly cost. No per-booking platform fee, no processing markup, no marketplace commission, no annual contract.
