The best WordPress booking plugins for classes and studios (2026)
Short answer
For a studio that runs a weekly class timetable with class packs, memberships and waitlists, Junocal Booking is the strongest fit. It's a free WordPress plugin that shows your Junocal booking page, with class capacity, waitlists, packs that take one credit per class, memberships that renew, term courses and payments into your own Stripe account. Most other WordPress booking plugins start from one-to-one appointments, and their packs, waitlists or Stripe payments often sit on higher paid tiers.
A class business asks more of a booking plugin than a salon or a consultant does. Each class has a capacity, regulars buy packs and memberships, and the 7am class needs a waitlist that fills itself. Most WordPress booking plugins were built for one-to-one appointments first, so the class features are often add-ons or sit on a higher tier.
This guide compares ten plugins on what a yoga, pilates, barre, dance or fitness studio actually runs. Junocal is our product, so it's first, and every fact about the others comes from their own pricing pages and documentation, checked on 23 October 2026.

1. Junocal Booking: free plugin, Junocal plans from $15 a month
Junocal Booking puts your Junocal booking page on any WordPress page with a block or the [junocal] shortcode. It's built around a class timetable, so the class features are the core of the product, not add-ons.
- Classes: each class has its own capacity. Clients book from a live timetable that shows 1 to 30 days ahead and updates when you change a class in Junocal.
- Waitlists: when someone cancels with notice, the next client in line is booked automatically. Close to class time, everyone waiting gets the offer and the first to claim it gets the place.
- Packs and memberships: class packs take one credit per booking, memberships renew through Stripe and members can pause them, and intro offers go only to first-time clients.
- Courses and privates: term courses take one enrolment for every date, and 1:1 appointments book from your availability on the same calendar.
- Pick-a-spot: clients choose their reformer, bike or spot at the barre.
- Payments: clients pay into your own Stripe account. There's no marketplace, so no commission on your bookings, and paid plans add no Junocal transaction fee.
- Price: the plugin is free. Junocal Starter is $15 a month, Studio $29 and Growth $69, month-to-month. The Free plan has a 4% fee instead of a monthly price. Try Studio free for 14 days.
Bookings and card details live in Junocal rather than your WordPress database, so there's nothing extra to back up or secure. Clients browse on your site, then register and pay on your secure Junocal booking page. See the WordPress booking plugin for classes and studios or the step-by-step setup guide.
2. Amelia
Amelia (90,000+ installs on wordpress.org) has two models: appointments, and events with capacity. Events with capacity are in the free Lite version, and group appointments are on every paid tier. Recurring events are on Standard and above, and each date is booked separately.
For a class studio the gaps are in selling. Amelia's packages are on Pro ($199 a year list) and "work only with services, not events", and a package always books for one person. Waitlists are also Pro and above; for events, attendees on the list must be approved by an administrator. Stripe arrives on Standard ($99 a year), and the docs describe no recurring membership billing.
3. BookingPress
BookingPress is an appointment plugin whose free version is now downloaded from the vendor's own site: its wordpress.org listing has been closed since 1 February 2025. Paid plans start at $89 a year (Standard, on sale from $99) or $229 one-time.
Service packages are on Professional ($139 a year on sale) and above, recurring appointments too, and the waiting list is an add-on on every paid plan. Memberships come through the separate ARMember plugin. BookingPress's own pages disagree on whether basic group capacity is in the free version or Premium.
4. Bookly
Bookly (60,000+ installs) is free for up to 5 services and 1 staff member, with offline payments only. Group bookings need Business ($69 a year on sale), and packages and the waiting list need Ultimate ($159 a year on sale). A Bookly package is built on one service with a validity period.
For payments, Stripe arrives on Business through an add-on. Bookly Cloud also offers Stripe payments with "a small commission of 0.9% per transaction" on top of Stripe's fees.
5. Simply Schedule Appointments
Simply Schedule Appointments (50,000+ installs, rated 5.0) runs classes and group events from Plus ($99 a year introductory, $129 at renewal). Its guides note that one booking form books one person and that it can't display remaining capacity. Stripe payments start on Professional ($199 a year introductory).
There's no built-in waitlist ("Not yet", in its own words). Packs and memberships come through the separate MemberPress plugin, which gives each membership an appointment allowance.
6. Booknetic
Booknetic isn't on wordpress.org; it's sold from its own site, from $45 a year (Basic, on sale from $89). Group appointments and recurring appointments are on every tier.
Packages and the waitlist are on Elite only ($299 a year on sale), and Stripe starts on Standard ($99 a year on sale). Booknetic's Stripe subscriptions feature is for its SaaS edition, not for selling memberships to your clients.
7. LatePoint
LatePoint (100,000+ installs) is free on wordpress.org, including events with capacity and Stripe payments through Stripe Connect. Paid plans include every feature and differ only by site count, from $69 a year (Starter, on sale until 31 October; the same page also lists $79 and $99).
Group bookings for appointments and service bundles are paid features. LatePoint doesn't state a waitlist or membership feature.
8. WooCommerce Bookings
WooCommerce Bookings ($249 a year) turns WooCommerce products into bookable slots, so it needs a WooCommerce store. A class is a bookable product with a minimum and maximum number of participants, and person types can be priced separately.
Memberships come from WooCommerce Subscriptions (another $279 a year), and weekly and monthly schedule views from the Bookings Availability add-on ($59 a year). The plugin's own FAQ says it isn't designed for one-off event tickets or recurring events.
9. Booking Calendar
Booking Calendar (40,000+ installs) is built around an availability calendar, which suits rentals and time slots. Capacity per day or time slot needs Business Large ($184.97 one-time on sale, normally $349), and Stripe needs Business Small and above. Packs, memberships and waitlists aren't stated.
10. Gym Builder
Gym Builder (100+ installs) is one of the few WordPress plugins built around a gym timetable. The free core has a weekly schedule with per-slot capacity, trainers, members and membership plans with class-based tiers such as "pick any 10 classes". Stripe billing needs the Stripe Payments add-on ($29.99 a year) or the Pro Bundle ($59.99 a year). A waitlist isn't stated.

How to choose
Ask each plugin these questions, then check the answer on the tier you'd actually buy:
- Does a class pack work for classes? Several plugins sell packages that only cover one-to-one services.
- Is there a waitlist, and does it fill itself? Some have none, some need an administrator to approve each place.
- Can members pay monthly? Recurring memberships often need a second plugin.
- Which tier adds Stripe? Free versions often take offline payments only.
- What's the total yearly cost? Add the plugin, its add-ons, any second plugin and any per-payment fee.
Junocal Booking answers yes to the first four on every paid Junocal plan, from $15 a month. Try Studio free for 14 days and put your timetable on your WordPress site with the free plugin.
FAQ
- What is the best WordPress booking plugin for a yoga studio?
- Junocal Booking. It shows your yoga timetable on any WordPress page, and students book classes and workshops, buy intro offers, class packs and memberships, and join the waitlist when a class is full. Teacher training runs as a course with one enrolment. The plugin is free, and Junocal plans start at $15 a month.
- Which WordPress booking plugins handle class packs and memberships?
- Junocal Booking handles both for classes: a pack uses one credit per class, and memberships renew through your own Stripe account. Elsewhere it depends on the tier and the setup. Amelia's packages are on Pro and work with services, not events. Bookly's packages are on Ultimate and are built on one service. Simply Schedule Appointments uses the separate MemberPress plugin, and WooCommerce Bookings needs WooCommerce Subscriptions for memberships.
- Is there a free class booking plugin for WordPress?
- Yes. Junocal Booking is free in the WordPress plugin directory. Junocal runs the bookings behind it: try Studio free for 14 days, then plans start at $15 a month, or use the Free plan, which has a 4% fee on payments instead of a monthly price.
- Do WordPress booking plugins take a fee on payments?
- Most don't, beyond your payment processor's fees. One exception: Bookly Cloud's Stripe payments add 0.9% per transaction. Junocal adds no fee on Starter, Studio or Growth, and payments go to your own Stripe account. The Junocal Free plan has a 4% fee instead of a monthly price.
- Can I use a booking plugin on WordPress.com?
- Yes, on a WordPress.com plan that allows plugins, with hosting features activated. On other WordPress.com plans you can link a Buttons block to your Junocal booking page instead.
